"We are a non-profit, non-sectarian Nursery School program located at the Poquonock Community Church. We provide early education for three and four-year-olds. Poquonock Playschool has been in service to the community since 1982. We are licensed by the State of Connecticut, and our facility is inspected and approved annually by Windsor Fire and Health Department officials. PHILOSOPHY We believe that pre-school children learn most effectively through a play-based program. Such a program creates a safe and nurturing environment in which children are encouraged to explore, to imagine, to create and to interact. Our major goal is to present each child with a variety of opportunities for success, in order to promote social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth. By offering children opportunities to develop self-confidence and positive self-image, we promote a healthy attitude toward school and future learning experiences."
